Menjangan Island Trekking
The journey can start either in the morning or afternoon, depending on your preference. Once we arrive at the site, we’ll begin exploring the mangrove forest in West Bali National Park. The park is home to 21 genera and 28 species of mangroves, representing about 11.5% of all mangrove plants in Indonesia. Some notable species include Avicennia marina (Grey Mangrove), Lumnitzera racemosa Willd, and Euphorbiaceae (Blind-your-eye mangrove). These mangroves provide habitat for Kingfishers and monitor lizards.
As we pass through the mangrove forest, we may spot the rare Bali Starling. We’ll also cross a small riverbed that only flows during the rainy season. This seasonal forest is home to large trees that serve as shelter for various bird species, grey monkeys, and the park’s endemic fauna—the rare “Ebony Leaf Monkeys” (Black Monkeys).
